Where are We?
This North Shore site is 5 miles west of Christiansted. Nearby attractions are the various beautiful north shore beaches including Columbus Landing, Salt River, and Cane Bay where you will find excellent scuba facilities, and other attractions, a marina w/restaurant within one mile, which includes a scuba training center, and shopping within a 5 mile radius, including the Christiansted area. What to Do?
St Croix's Gentle Winds continues to be one of the premier destinations on this laid-back tropical paradise. The choice is yours to relax and enjoy this luxurious 3-BR condo on 40+ private out-of-the-way acres, or take advantage of the many island activities. Many unique features here await, such as the Buck Island Reef National Monument, where unbeatable snorkeling is a short boat-ride away, or Cane Bay where great scuba diving is available right from the beach, or Salt River Marina Scuba! Try your luck at the Carina Bay Casino on the south-eastern shore of the island. Many auto-tours throughout the island, from the rain forest to the botanical gardens are favorite activities your family will remember. But most of all, Gentle winds offers one of the best private beaches, fantastic pool and Tiki-Bar, and spectacular sunsets - right from our own beach. We are just 1/2 mile away from Salt Point Marina where you can learn to scuba dive or take a cruise. The small restaurant serves great breakfasts and dinner. If tou have not vacationed in the Virgin Islands, now is the time to try our island. It is well-known that vacation condos offer a great price and value over hotels and commercial resorts. Sunset at Gentle Winds
The Pool Area at Gentle Winds
Your stay at Edgewater may begin in the morning with breakfast on the screened porch, overlooking the beach and pool. Our kitchen is stocked with all you need except staples from the grocer. Take your time - you are on vacation!
Take a leisurely walk along the beach and try to find new shells for your collection. The mornings here are refreshing and invigorating.
When the sun gets a little stronger, take the beach towels and wander down to the beach and pool for a little refreshing dip. You will have to wait until nearly noon for the Beach Shack to open, but the drinks and food is worth the wait!
If you like ping-pong, the game room is waiting. There is are puttings greens up the hill on our four-hole practice course, and a playground and tennis courts await also.
The pool is a modern saltwater type and uses NO chlorine - only a mild dose of salt, and the beach is pure Caribbean, so take your choice. Beyond the buoys at the beach lies a snorkeling adventure, but be careful of the coral outcroppings!
You can walk 1/2 mile (or drive) to the Salt River Marina. The Dive Shop is open, and if you snorkel or scuba, you may book a trip to "the wall" here, which is 1/2 mile directly off the Gentle Winds shore.
Gentle Winds is a 10-15 minute drive to downtown Christiansted. There is shopping of all sorts, reastaurants, bars, and all of the services that a big city can offer. Here at the waterfront is the excursions to other dive sites, as well as to the Buck Island Reef National Monument.
