There are concessionaires that offer full and half day trips to Buck Island, so getting there is not a problem. Usually the problem lies in getting you to leave. Turtle Beach on Buck's west end has been voted one of the world's most beautiful beaches by National Geographic. The underwater trail is a snorkelers' dream come true. If you're not a snorkeler, don't worry! Your professional guides can make assured snorkelers of even the most timid swimmers. Take a guided snorkeling tour of the underwater trail and surround yourself with coral, angel fish, and crustaceans.

The Sights
St. Croix is an island of plenty — plenty of palm trees, pink hibiscus, plush green hills, and plunging cliffs. The diversity of life to be found between our eastern desert and our western rain forest is astounding. Where else does it take but a half-hour to go from a cactus to a loaded mango tree? A drive through this generous land with an occasional stop for a walk or photo might be enough activity for many, but sportier sightseers can catch the beauty from crests, courts, and courses.

Beaches
Of course, we at Gentle Winds offer to you our own private beach for your convenience. Just walk out of your condo, and down 100 yards to the beach or to the free-form pool area and enjoy! The Beach Shack serves great lunches and snacks, as well as beer, soda, and superb tropical concoctions that you will love. Towels are supplied in your condo, and beach chairs and lounges are included on the beach under palm shade umbrellas by management. You may snorkel right at the beach, but be careful of coral outcroppings beyond the buoys.
5 miles west of Gentle winds is Cane Bay, where you may enjoy the beach, shop, eat, and even learn to scuba at the Cane Bay Dive Shop. The coral reef "wall", off the beach, has some of the greates diving around.
